I am a customer of tata sky for long time. And I usually recharge my premium on an annual basis, on order to avail undisturbed service. On 23/03/2016 I called the customer service of Tata sky for upgradation from normal viewing to HD viewing. I was given the plan details and I chose the ₹1500/- plan which included the new set top box, remote and one year of free HD service. Also I took confirmation from executive on the phone that my relay should not be stopped in transition from normal to HD and whatever the charges are I shall be paying at the dealer closely to my home. I was assured by the customer service executive that the relay will be on. I insisted on this cause I intended to watch the India Bangladesh t20 cricket match later in the evening. I had called them at approx 1:30pm and within minutes a local executive called me to check on what time can he come and fix the new box. I told him I am at office and after 6 pm anytime he can come, he said it is too late and that office closes so I told him come at 5:30, he said the security at the apartment may not allow him post 5 pm, so I told him come earlier. At approx 4 pm I got a call from an executive again inquiring about the installation of the new HD box. So I asked him to go over to the residence as per the records and have it fixed, as by then my family is at home to oversee the installation. The executive came only post 5pm,installed it and said that the software is getting downloaded and will be ready in half an hour, we spoke over phone, I told him to make sure that he gets the relay going and that the recharge amount for the upgradation will be paid in sometime. I also told him that I am an annual premium customer so don't worry about the charges, I shall pay then shortly, which I did pay post 6 pm and I have a message of the same. Thereafter I reach home to find the relay not coming through, and some errors showing up on TV. I kept myself calling the executive and the Tata sky customer care for the entire evening and now 24/03/16
7 am, the relay is still not come through. I missed the entire match last night, have had an argument with my wife, did not have dinner, and at my breakfast table right now I am lodging this complaint. It is mentally disturbing for being put through this in spite of having maintained my side of the deal. I find this to be fraudulent and I would like to even go legal with this on Tata sky.
