IRCTC - Poor Catering Service in Shatabdi Exp

Dear Manager
1. I am a serving Army officer of the rank of Brigadier. We were travelling in 2001B shatabdi express on 4th april 2010 from Agra Cantt to New Delhi. The details are as follows:-
• PNR – 210-4448853.
• Ticket No – ********.
• Seat No-2,3 &4 in Coach No. C7.
2. It is to bring to your notice the pathetic catering services provided to the passengers of one of the most elite trains of the country . The major issues are as follows:-
• The water provided was hot and without drinking glass/cup.
• No soup and allied items were provided to any of the passengers in the cabin.
• No curd was provided with the meals.
• No salt& pepper cache and tooth pick was provided.
• The std of food, presentation and the taste was far below the standard.
3. The excuse provided for the above was that train was late. However the train was only 15 min late. It could be verified. When asked , the staff said that you should have asked for it. The entitled items for which the passenger is paying should auto be supplied and not on demand.
4. The complaint book was not provided inspite of repeated requests.
5. May I rqst you to take penal action against the catering contractor/staff at the earliest. The action taken may please be informed to the undersigned so as to restore the faith in the complaint mechanism.
