I have bought an HP laptop DV6000 series model DV6767tx in 2007. laptop has the overheating problem from starting itself I thought it to be normal but last week suddenly it stopped working there is no display on the LCD but when connect it to the external monitor it works.

I searched on the net and found out that laptop has the faulty nVidia GPU inbuilt due to that it overheated and display won\'t work. I contacted HP about this they examine the unit and told me GPU is faulty and they need to replace the whole mother board that would cost around 20000/-.

As there is a manufacturing fault in the unit I am not suppose to pay any money for that HP should stand by their product. There are thousands of user that are having the same problem and HP is not anything at all.

Can I can this faulty unit replaced or atleast get it repaired without any cost as it a manufacturing fault.

Thanks
Manish

HP Laptops are VERY BAD I replaced motherboard, then video chip, and again motherboard is damaged.

No use replacing damaged parts on HP laptops. Because of overheating, the parts will keep getting damaged. Go for Sony/Acer/Asus/Dell laptops.

Hey, I got it fixed only in 2000 bucks from outside.

Damn to HP they just wanted to sell the whole motherboard while problem is in GPU.

I really support this complaint. Same is the case with me. I also belive that HP should do the mother board change for free, as it was a manufacturing defect. By not doing this they are lossing there lot of customer's.
