Hi sir/mam,

I have purchased a policy(Birla Sun Life Insurance Platinum Premier Plan) from Birla Sun life on 10th May 2010 from Gurgaon Branch. It has annual policy premium of 80,000 INR and a monthly installment premium of 6,666.64. its more than 46 months and I have always paid all the installment without any fail. Till date I have paid total amount of 3,06,665 INR. I am surprised that they never called me to inform me the status of my policy/investment. When I called the customer care to know the status of the policy, they told me that my policy is running in loss of approximately 40,000.I told the executive that I want to surrender my policy, the executive advised that someone from the retention team will call me(complaint# BY9117, in the month of Nov 2013) however, no one has called me till Jan 2014. In Jan 2014, somebody named Manish called me from Birla Sun life and kept on repeating that you had signed the agreement and it’s your fault that you have not read the T&C. If you will choose to surrender the policy, more charges will be deducted. When I asked where my funds are invested? Then he was not ready to share the information. I want to ask them why would I have to bear the charges and losses, I know that this is an ULIP plan and its subject to market risk however in the span of 3 years, was there no profit at all and always loss and loss? I want to surrender this policy and want my funds back whatever amount that have invested so far. I don’t want any profit/benefits from them, I just need my money which I have paid till date.
