Royal Enfield - NOT SATISFIED BY THE QUALITY OF THE PRODUCT

Day 1: RE motorcycle delivered my ThunderBird TwinSpark on 16th January 2010 from RE showroom at Jayanagar 9th block,Bangalore.

Day 2:

Problem 1:
The bike would run for few meters [say 100-200mtrs] and stop,since i wasn't new to knowing 2 wheelers ,quickly found it to be some problem with the fuel line.But when the problem was revealed i was taken by surprise how can RE simply give away the bike to its customer without testing it on road ?? The mechanic at RE immediately got what the problem was and said its a known problem with the fuel tank cap,which holds the vacuum inside the tank and there by not letting the fuel flow into the engine.I wonder if RE knows what the problem is, why can;t they just rectify all of it before handing over the vehicle to its customers ??

Problem 2:
Since TBTS came with electric start i never checked if the bike starts with a kick !! to my astonishment i never did.The kick start never worked on my new bike which was just a day old.I had leave my bike for a day in their service station and collect it the next day before they fixed the problem with the kicker.

My passion for this bike was much more than the frustration,perhaps i din't complaint to RE that time.

Its close to a year now.I ride my bike in city limits and it was only once i took it on a long ride [not more than 300 km to and fro].The crash guard which i got fitted at the RE workshop came off its welding,dint bother to inform this to RE,since its just any accessory.The next thing what happened has to be brought to RE's notice as well to the potential customer's.

Problem 3:
I heard this weird vibration from the engine while riding which got louder as i rode further.Later found that the welding of the fuel tank which connects it to the main frame has come off !!! Not even a year to the purchase my vehicle is corroding.I can see the metal has rusted where the welding is come off.

I just want to know from RE that are we getting the best quality for the money we put in.The motorcycles at RE are getting costlier with months passing by,but is it what they offer their customers ????

I support this complaint.

Its a know fact that RE motor cycle builds are inconsistent. Some might be lucky to get a real sturdy motorcycle and some with really bad build quality.

How I know this ??? Because I owned a bull that I can safely bet me life on ... and some of me fellow riders had RE's that to say the least were bucket full of issues ...

I really hope they come back with an explanation to this complaint; and also ensure that this rider gets his bike serviced ( total inspection ) on the company's tab. Some the problems he mentioned are disasters awaiting to happen.
