On 30th November 2010, I took delivery of my RE Electra (Black) at around 1830hrs. I had waited for more than FOUR months (128 days to be exact) for my bullet to come into my hands. I had booked the bullet at RE Brand Store at Jayanagar 9th block, Bangalore. The bullet was very smooth. I took it for a ride that day evening. One my way it started showing problems. The bike started to turn off at the middle of the road, in between my ride. It was like some problem with the fuel line. This happened all the way till I reached my destination. When I parked my bullet on road side, I noticed that the brake light is glowing, even though no brake was applied. I checked the rear brake by pressing it. It was not retracting completely, which resulted in the brake light problem. When I pressed the rear brake pedal harder, it bent and shifted to one side. I was no longer able to apply the rear brakes. I was surprised to find out that an RE bullet is so much delicate. The body frame to which the rear brake assembly is connected was bent.

Next day morning, ie, today (1st December 2010), I took my bullet back to the showroom. Regarding the fuel line problem, the guy there checked the vehicle and told me that the fuel pipe is bent and he corrected it. Said that it was a mistake done by the assembling team. I was again surprised to see that these guys deliver me the bullet without checking.

And regarding the brake pedal, one guy there, Mr. Amith, told me that such a thing wont happen to the brake pedal unless you meet with an accident. He was not in a mood to believe me. I am a customer who bought a bike from him and he was not acting friendly to me. He just wanted to put the blame on me. He told me to take the vehicle to the nearby service center. One guy there corrected the pedal by straightening it just by pushing with his bare hands. I told him that if you can bend it with your hand, then it will surely bend if I go for a sudden brake. They checked and said that there is some problem with the brake pedal assembly and they will correct it. After 3 hours, when I went back he told me that the bend has been straighten out and it wont happen again. Also he has got nothing more to do. I am sure he was just washing his hands.

I didnt expect this thing from Royal Enfield. Withing 12 hours of purchase of the vehicle I had to take it to the service center and keep it there for 4 hours. I bought an RE vehicle because I was passionate and you delivered me a poor quality bike.

Also I am totally disappointed with RE peoples attitude towards their Customer. These guys get their salary paid because there are Customers like me. I hope you will take this matter seriously and replace me the vehicle as early as possible. I had mailed to customer care twice and I did not get any response so far.

Complainant's Goal: I want the vehicle to be replaced with a new good one or return my money back

I support this complaint.I too got a RE motorcycle from the same place.A black TBTS.Had problems with it the very next day i got the bike in my hands. The same problem as said by Mr. Unni here. The bike would go off since the fuel never reached the engine.Later they found the problem to be the fuel tank cap which never let the vacuum out there by blocking the fuel down to the engine. Was so much surprised how RE could simply give away that machine without putting it to test !!!
That was problem number one.Secondly the kick start never worked on my new bike. With RE increasing the price tags on their bikes and people with their hard earned money go to them for buying this machine, this is definitely not acceptable.
