I had bought an insurance policy (Policy no - 500000786) for my car( Zen Estilo – HR05U - 3596) from Maruti authorized dealership ( Modern Automobiles, Karnal) in July 2010. The policy was issued by Iffco-Tokyo because of its tie up with Maruti. Unfortunately, my car met with an accident on 22nd Oct’10 and the very next day viz. 23rd Oct, car was taken to Karnal Motors, Karnal for repair. Its been over 2 months but the car is still in their custody. As per them, I am required to pay the full amount in cash( around 1 Lac) to take the car since cashless has not been approved by the company. They further added, since the third party loss in involved and FIR is against me, cashless is not being approved. Here, I want to say that the accident happened with Scorpio and I was saved by the God’s grace otherwise the situation would have been opposite. People take cashless policy because they are not in a position to pay big amount in lump sum. Its quite difficult for me to manage the funds however, I am ready to pay the minimum amount due on account of depreciation. I have already provided all the required documents like copy of police records, copy of driving license and RC duly verified by the Authorities.
