Complaint by: vineha on December 21, 2010, 8:00 pm in Indian Railways

I am travelling by Patna Express(Train number - 16309) on 21st Dec 2010. There was a train derailment at Aluva because of which there was a cascaded delay. Please note, scheduled departure at ERS is 1640 ( ERS being the source)

My complaint begins here:
1. There was 1 announcement at 1630 hrs informing the passengers about a 90 minute delay(Rescheduled for 1800hrs). After this announcement there was NO information/announcement made at all with further details. I had to visit the Office of DY Station Manager to get any information.
2. At 1800 hrs DY Station manager informed me that he had NO IDEA when the train would be arriving.(I would like to know how this kind of management enables our INDIAN RAILWAYS to function). We are depending on the Indian Railways for "basic" information. I was informed after much prodding that the train was in the PitLine(I understand it means at maintenance)
3. Finally the train arrived at the platform at 1855 hrs without any prior announcement.
4. The train though coming from the Pit Line was not as clean as I expected. I have pictures as proof and will be sending these pictures to crb_rail_suggestions@rb.railnet.gov.in as soon as possible.
5. The laptop charging point provided is a 2 pin plug point. I have not seen a laptop with a 2 pin charger. I might be mistaken. But mine sure isn't one. (I have a picture)
6. Lastly, the side lower berth is bent toward the center!!! This is unacceptable. I will be sending the pictures shortly.

Please take these points as a personal experience. And there is no element of fiction in anything I have said.

Thanks.
