IndiGo Airlines - Unexpected Landing

Dear Sir/Madam,

I had booked round air tickets in the month of April. The origin is Bangalore and destination is Visakhapatnam (One way) and Visakhapatnam to Bangalore (Return).

I enquired the air flights bookings through your company website (www.goindigo.in) and also the travel website (www.yatra.com). I had decided to go forward to book the flight tickets online through yatra website, and I went through the details for return journey and I understand the air journey is 3 hours and 30 minutes via Hyderabad. I went ahead and booked the tickets in the month of April. My flight No is Indigo 6E-492.

Yesterday on 25th May 2014, When I boarded the flight 6E-492 to Bangalore. I was surprised to know that the flight landed at Bhuvaneshwar, Odisha instead of Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh.

What really matter to me is that I was not aware about the flight landing at Bhuvaneshwar instead of Hyderabad. I got startled and annoyed when I clarified with the flight attendant about Hyderabad landing. I understand that the route was changed but the airlines should notify the booked passengers well in advance about the change of route. This will be helpful not to cause anxiously towards the passengers who are not aware of such landing in the unexpected destination.

Unfortunately, I didn't have a snapshot of return details showing Via Hyderabad. I do have a softcopy of e-ticket.
