Complaint by: Sarjeet Singh Puri on August 28, 2012, 2:51 pm in Mobile Service Providers

1. I purchased a Data Card from Airtel Sirisha Communication, shop No.4&5,B-1, RDC, RajNagar, Ghaziabad-201002 on 01.10.2009 on cash payment of Rs. 3500/-
2. Rs. 350/- were also paid by me on 01.10.2009 as Security/AdvanceBill/Cost of Sim Card.
3. No.- ********87 was allotted to me and bill for the period 01.10.2009 to 07.10.2009 for Rs. was the first bill, which shows the monthly billing cycle was 8th to 7th of next month.
4. After that I used to receive the monthly bill for each monthly cycle from 8th to 7th of next month. The monthly bill never exceeded Rs.400/-and all the bills were paid in time. There was never any dispute.
5. Suddenly in April 2012 I received a bill for Rs. 1522.48 forthe period 08.03.2012 to 08.04.2012. On receipt of exhorbitant bill I immediately tried to contact Nos. ********65 and ********65 several times but I could not contact the correct official who could reply my querries.
6. I sent my complaint through E-Mail at 121@in.airtel.com on 19.04.2012, 20.04.2012, 26.04.2012 & 28.04.2012 and requested to intimate me the datewise consumtion from 08.03.2012 to 07.04.2012.Though I received back E-Mail but datewise details were never informed nor even till today. I also personally went to the Airtel Counter in RDC RajNagar Ghaziabad but I received no help.
7. Being aggrieved I finally wrote to Airtel to disconnect my connection and to refund my Security etc. after adjusting the bill. I sent this request through Speed Post as well through Registered Post on 30.04.2012.
8. To my utter surprise another one more bill for Rs. 2223.61 for the period 08.04.2012 to 07.05.2012 was sent to me and total pending was shown as Rs. 3846.09.
9. To harrass me further Airtel sent me a letter dated 11.06.2012 showing one more hypothetical bill for the period 08.05.2012 to 01.06.2012 for Rs. 304.47 and thus demanding Rs. 4150.56 in total from me whereas my connection was disconnected on 06.05.2012 before billing cycle. This is absolutely unjustified.
10. In reply to above I requested Airtel to send me the correc bill so that I may make payment on 14.07.2012 through registerd post.
11. Instead of listening to my request Airtel has sent me notice through advocate to deposit amount failing which legal action will be taken. I am 67 year old retired person. As a law abiding person i have deposited Rs.4151/-on 28.08.2012. But I pray for the justice and refund of my excess amount collected by Airtel from me and direction to Airtel not to adopt pressure tactice against customers.

Complainant's Goal: I want refund of unjustified amount.
