TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
Dear sir,
I procured Railway reservation in AC 3 Tier at Kanchanjunga express No- 15658 from Guwahati to New Jalpaiguri on 02.10.2011 for 3 persons. My PNR No was ********64. My boarding station was Guwahati station, which was supposed to be departed at 10-30 pm on 02.10.2011. From Railway enquiry No 139 it was announced that it was 4 hour 30 Minutes late and would be departed at 03-00 am of 03.10.2011. From 12 noon of 02.10.2011 I contacted with 139 enquiry at the interval of every 30 minutes and the same announcement was made. Even at 10-20 pm it announced that the train would be departed at 03-00 hr of 03.10.2011. But at 11-15 hr of 02.10.2011 it announced that the train had departed at right time (10-30 pm) to my utter surprise. Even in the Web site ie Indianrailgov.in, the same was shown till 10—20 pm of 02.10.2011. Consequently I missed the train and subsequently I missed the flight to Katmandu (both ways). Had I not only incurred enormous monetary loss, but also lost mental peace for few days. Had the Rly Enquiry announced at 10-20 pm , that the train would run in time, I could have availed the train at Kamakhya station next to Guwahati stn. It was quiet surprising to note here that the Rly Enquiry (139) at 10-20 pm announced that the train will depart at 03-00 hr of 03-10.2011, when actually the train was standing at Guwahati platform.
Hence would you please apprise me why the Railway Board should not compensate for the loss I had incurred for sheer irresponsible act of them.
With regards
