Universal Employment Agency provides domestic workers and caregivers, where I hired my domestic care giver from them, in September. They gave 6 months replacement guarantee if the worker leaves without giving due notice or if the employer was unsatisfied with his or her services. Since September, I had 4 employees changed with no fault of mine and they just have a pattern of leaving job after getting one month pay.
The agency does not share informed consent of all the procedures or regulation on the so called hired workers.
There is no binding contract on the employees either from the agency or from us, as the placement companies do not give us any hold on their contract.
The agency put pressure on us to give unrestricted work days off, whenever these workers demand to visit their hometowns, there are no any particular leave rules or salary cut procedures.
There is no prior verification done on their background, none of their documents are shared with us, just a verbal note from the agency on their credentials.
The agency is irresponsive to our concerns with these hired workers conduct, their attitude is take it or leave it.
It is very aggravating when investing money, time and efforts to train one person in the household, and when they leave as soon as they fancy without binding or sufficient notice; and when these placement agencies really do not work on fairgrounds for both sides.
There has to be a forum where the employers can share their grievances, especially when we have to depend on these domestic workers for caregiving our children.
Both sides should abide the law of labour rules and regulations.
