Complaint by: preeti on May 17, 2009, 12:37 am in Credit Cards

I got the add on card credit card (5548 5199 9843 1008) on my HSBC credit card cancelled on March 10 2008. I also got my main card (5548 5135 0275 9491) cancelled in Oct 2008. These cards stopped showing up in my HSBC net banking and phone banking after that. In Dec 2008 the bank activated the cards again without my consent and levied some charges on it. On Jan 3rd 2009, I personally went to the M G Road, gurgoan branch on HSBC and and registered the complaint in writing and have a signed copy of the same. Till date I haven\'t received any communication from the bank on the complaint but I keep getting harrasing calls from the collections department for charges that are dated much after I had cancelled both the cards. They even ask for annual fee for 2009 for the card that don\'t even exist.

Complainant's Goal: Stop unnecessary harrasment

I support this complaint.
Please allow me to introduce myself my name is Michael Mason-Mahon and I am a shareholder of HSBC Plc. I am based in London yet I am a very regular visitor to India.

At HSBC Annual General Meeting of Shareholders 2010 I did address my concerns with the Board of Directors concerning what HSBC has been doing and is doing in India to our customers.

I may be able to help you. I can assure you that I will do all that I can to help you. I have been very successful in the people that I have taken up their cases with HSBC.

I was contacted by HSBC to settle this account for Rs 500. I agreed, but the person later did not want to come to my house for closing the account but wanted us to meet on the midway as my house did not fall under their area of jurisdiction. We refused to do so. Subsequently, we kept getting calls from the bank till we emailed them the scanned copy of the our application sumitted to the bank on Jan 3rd 2009. Since then we have stopped getting calls but the SMSes and bills for the payment continue to come
