General Manager,
I was a reserved traveller in Coach D5 of Jan Satabdi Express on 21/11/2010.
I boarded the train at Tirur. There was no problem till Thrissur. From Thrissur
lot of people crowded the reserved boggy not allowing even the space to move.
This was because people who missed the Venad Express all boarded this train
instead. No TT was in sight. There were waitlisted passengers who were
arguing with the reserved passengers for their seats. It was a hell of a time in
coach D5.
As far as I undertand, in Jan Satabdi Train all coaches are reserved seats
and no standing is allowed. I feel this was somethig happened due to TT's mistake
of not attending it in time. We continued like this till Ernakulam and got a
relief only after that. If things are happening like this, what is the purpose of "Shub Yathra" and Reservation means?
There was no light in one bath room of D5 boggy on that day (21/11). Some of the food tray locks were of a small metal plate which could easy hurt the hand as well. It is evident that proper maintenance of boggies are not there.
Moreover, in Jan Satabdi train seats are too congested. Fat people find it very difficult to sit in these seats.
The passage also has not enough space where any movement of people will surely hit the shoulders of the passengers in the Aisle seats. Remember all the the food venders are constantly using this passage to sell their products. The Aisle seat passengers takes the brunt.
Just for your info. If anything can be done, I am pleased. No harm meant.
