My name is Sachin having IDEA PREAPAID no.********97 from last 5 years. Due to poor service and customer care i want tp port my number from idea to vodafone.
I have messaged PORT ********97 to 1900 and recieved a message from 1901 that my UPC is ID147RZT. After that on 20.01.2011 I have submitted the required form, verification ID and photograph at VODAFONE store.
On 21.01.11 VODAFONE has sent me message " Your porting request ID147RZt dated 21 jan 11 has been rejected by your current operator due to the Porting code does not match the Donor allocated Porting Code for this number. Please contact your current operator for further details". I called IDEA, firstly they tried to convince me to stay with Idea, but I was definate to port out and i requested them to look into the matter. After long conversation they said that this must be due to some thecnical reasons and I should again sms PORT 1900 and get my porting code and visit VODAFONE store again.
I again messaged PORT ********97 to 1900 and this time also I got the same UPC code.
NOW on 24.01.11 VODAFONE has again sent me message " Your porting request ID147RZt dated 24 jan 11 has been rejected by your current operator due to the Porting code does not match the Donor allocated Porting Code for this number. Please contact your current operator for further details".
I again called IDEA, but they didn't helped me and said they cannot do anything and they do not hae any detais regarding this... when I asked them t asking to some senior person then put my call on hold for around 20minutes.. then they said that there must be some due for any service you might be using.. I conveyed that my number IS PREPAID and you people dont START any SERVICE before deducting the balance.
PLEASE HELP>>> I WANT TO PORT OUT FROM IDEA
idea is blocking port messages to 1900 and is making me impossible to switch to other network carriers! This is violating consumer rights and idea should unblock messages to 1900 soon or else i will have to approach consumer court!

I am facing same issue. Idea has a lot of ideas regarding any complaint.
1. We have no more information
2. There may be few technical issues
3. System always shows right information
4. Server is down.
5. You have activated this Value added service.

They cut the phone.

I have the same issue while porting out of Vodafone. Initially i get a message that this number is used for internal usage. Then i received a call from one of their executives - who tried to convince me, I might have agreed to try this for a few more months but then he turned rude. Lets see how all this goes..

I support this complaint. My number ********05 is 5 yrs old with Idea. I try to port this number to Airtel due to bad network in my location. Contact idea so many times to resolve the coverage issue. No action taken by them. Finally, I sent message to port this number to Airtel on 1900. I received message from 1901 i.e Unique Porting Code for your mobile number ********05 is ID716317 UPC expiry date is 19/03/2011 11:04:08. Fill the form with my document. Airtel messaged me request rejected by your operator due to wrong mnp code. Whoever It was correct. I contacted Idea, they replied as same as the above complaint. Then I contacted Airtel. They asked ur numer is ported to Airtel. Now, you r a Airtel customer. Just I need to dial 123 from my phone to activate this numer. However, I was calling from idea SIM. Then I used the Airtel SIM in another phone, network is coming. But when I dial 123. It displays error in connection. Then airtel customer care ask me to visit Airtel outlet. I visited. They asked me to contact dealer to whom I submitted port in form. Then dealer asked, they sent an email regarding this matter to Airtel higher authority. Now my porting code expired. Airtel SIM is showing signal on my mobile. Idea SIM is on working condition. Now again I have submitted the porting request to Vodafone. Let's c what will happen this time. Idea is trying to call me. But I am not receiving call. As I afraid, again they may ask my porting request is incorrect. However, Vodafone executive verified the Porting code and SIM number on call. Airtel port in cce n services r poor. Howmany times I called got the different answer.
switch to BSNL guys, its better than IDEA. support indian company, its better too :)

I am having the same problem while porting out from Airtel. I get the same message that the donor code does not match.
Who knows what the donor code is? I have filled the application from my end and submitted. Now Airtel needs to take care of the rest. I am sick of this stupid tactic from Airtel to retain the customers.
This is just not done Airtel. Good bye to you. This is what I get for being a loyal customer for 6 years. I'll never come back to Airtel again.
I support this complaint. Same thing has happened to me. My IDEA mobile number is ********91. Idea is denying our rights to Mobile Number Portability. I am complaining at TRAI. You also try it.

Im facing same problem from Idea.
I called customer care they said its a fault message and it would be corrected...will it really be corrected..do i need to apply for portability again after my port number expires..? whom to consult for right information.. ?

I support this complaint. IDEA is doing same with me. i tried to port in to Vodafone and then to Airtel (since voda people do not seem too interested to have new customers).
Airtel updated me that the code provided by my current provider is wrong and that I need to speak with them or the only option is to wait for 15 days and let the code expire and then generate new code (which I have tried twice).
Other suggestion from IDEA is to stick to them and as the time passes the services will go better.
