I was asked by a friend to try using Matrix sim cards once since I was traveling a lot to dubai and everytime I would go there, I would land up either using the hotel’s phone or buy a prepaid number with limited validity and then throw it even when it had some credit in it. Until recently that my friend used Matrix for US and found their services to be at par with any local service provider in the country. Hence on his recommendation, I bought a postpaid matrix sim for UAE. I was glad they had other services to offer with it, like internet and bbm services for Blackberry users. Since I was using it mainly for my calling purpose, I appreciated them sharing the number well in advance which I could easily share with my counterparts in Dubai to avoid any confusion regarding picks ups and co-ordination. Plus one on that for me! Their 3G services were super fast. I mean a few seconds and I could upload files and share. For all the time that I was using it in Dubai, I forgot that it was a Dubai number and felt like I was using my Airtel services, which are really good. Convenience is all ticked for me and I landed up paying 7.5k for those 10 days there. Which is definitely affordable than paying heavy hotel phone bills or throwing sim cards.
