Complaint by: DJPaul on January 28, 2013, 7:45 am in Retail Stores

I returned to India after spending 22 years in San Jose. My profession for the last 15 years was that I was a state auditor with the Civil Services and then a Fraud Investigator with the Civil Services with a entity of the State of California. I am just making a public awareness after my third experience with this retail outlet. May be this is the same scenario with other large shopping complex but this is the only one close to my home and I have been there three times with the same experience. I cannot rule it out as a someone overlooked it but it seems to be intentional for the reason mentioned.

The complex is large and much more in square footage as compared to Walmart, KMart, Target or Kaarfour in middle east dealing with similar products in US or Middle East. This happened three times in the last one month and I am not able to understand as to what someone who took the time to write a sign and advertise a product cannot change the price in the system which comes up automatically when scanned. Interestingly none of the price was in favor of the curstiomer but the retailer. In other words higher that what was advertised. If a product comes up higher that what was scanned then most retailers abroad will not charge for the product but refund a higher amount as they stand by it. there was no remorse by the checker the the three products in a 18 inch bill that came upo yesterday. Rather he left the counter three time and the time seemed to be equal to my shopping time. Not tio forget the checker next to the agent Mahesh made me remove my items twice from his conveyer belt. He could not make up his mind as he was with another customer and Mahesh left his post.

Last bill specifics: date 27-01-2013, CM#1462, Store 01008, Reg 127, Agent:Mahesh,
Saffola 5 litre oil Product code 100008640, charged Rs.580, price on pack 540
Nutrela 500 gm table spread (10005027) came with a 100 gm free and the promoters on the isle sold me this and they charged Rs.27 for the free product.
HOMEMADE garlic paste (100508652) buy one get one free also came with the higher price and bother were charged. My mother who is about 73 years did not notice the price discrepancy and I am sure many would not. The Betty Crocker pancake mix due to the confusion of making me change the counters twice never made it to my bag. Not to forget that the bagger tied my bags with a tie and Brooke Bond Red label 1k which had a 100 gm free product never made it to me also.

Three times to this store and same scenario. Buyers BEWARE.
