Hi,
Today I was at the Nampally railway to purchase a mmts ticket at around 5 pm.
There were a couple of big queues and I joined one of them. I read on the counter that MMTS tickets would be given here along with other rail tickets. After waiting for about 15 min in the queue, when my turn came in the guy in the counter casually says that this counter is only for First class MMTS tickets and for normal MMTS tickets and I have to go the 2 counters in the end.
I pointed to him that on the counter it is mentioned in writing that "MMTS tickets are available in this counter" and nowhere it is explicitly mentioned that ONLY FIRST CLASS MMTS TICKETS are available. But he was very adamant that I go the other counter.
The Railway authorities should display clear sign boards regarding which counters offer MMTS tickets (ordinary / First class). Having clear boards will help the public a lot and save time. This is not rocket science and railways should be able to do this. Please kindly inform the concerned Railway authorities at the nampally station.
Thank you.
Best Regards,
Balaji
