Subject Bag Damage Complain !!!
Dear Sir,
We had travelled from Delhi to Mumbai on 25/March/2011 on PNR: KRNEJR , JL JXQL , IDSIWH , GHSMVD and on arrival into Mumbai we found that our bag had been torn. It was torn in a way that clearly showed that it was mishandled by the Jet Airways staff members. We reported the same to the Jet Airways staff members (Mr. Sagar Tari with ID 10612143 & Mr. Godambe Amit with ID 10813) but they were reluctant to believe us. They repeated kept telling us that it was not Jet Airways who tore the bag & they went to the extent that they blamed us of having our bags torn ourselves and blaming it on Jet Airways for obtaining compensation. They were rude in talking and behaving with us. After a quarrel the staff members checked if the bag was damaged while Check-in at Delhi Airport, and the system clearly shows that the bag was in proper condition at the time of Check-in. After that they finally told us that Jet Airways does not take any responsibility of baggage being damaged & they would not help us at any cost. Also we would have to call Jet Airways office and ask them to register a complaint for the compensation/repair or replacement for the torn bag.
I am a Gold member of Jet Privilege Club and fly very frequently (domestic & international) with Jet Airways. I am very dedicated to Jet Airways and prefer to fly on this specific airline only. If this is the way I will be treated I will have to consider changing my preferences and loyalty to other airlines like Kingfisher Airlines. I am very angry on Jet Airways with this incident and suggest you take this matter to the higher authorities and let me know ASAP what I should do with the bag. The bag is not in a condition to be used at all and I cannot take that bag with me on travelling. I would be travelling again soon and would need to take the bag along with me.
Regards,
Mayank Tody
