Sub: Complaint against Datawind for Aakash Tablet
I paid Rs. 5,199.00 to Datawind Innovations P. Ltd. Address: 563 Baba Deep Singh Complex,
East Mohan Nagar, Amritsar -143001 at their website http://www.ubislate.com with my Bank of Baroda debit card on 7th May, 2013 for their product model # Ubislate7C+(EDGE) for which they promised delivery within 7 days. The Order ID issued after successful payment was “PMCB551″.
Not hearing from them for 5 days, thru email or phone, I tried to contact the company at phone nos., email and support page at their website http://www.ubislate.com/
I was shocked to learn that
1) The toll free # 1800-1802-180 is not working and when called it gives to alternate phone # 0183-2708500 which is never answered.
2) Technical support officer at Phone No. 0183-2581330 do not help us with the status of the order.
3) The email ID (logistics@datawindsales.info) is not working.
4) The Order status page at http://www.ubislate.com/device-specification/status.html says the order ID “PMCB551″ is invalid.
5) The complaints lodged at contact form at http://www.ubislate.com/contact/index.html is neither acknowledged nor replied.
6) Emails sent to sales@datawind.com are neither acknowledged nor replied.

After 7 days, I lodged complaints at online consumer forum and portal websites www.grahakseva.com and www.akosha.com. Someone on behalf of Datawind replied to my complaint at www.grahakseva.com, but no direct communication since then and no further update after 15 days.
I did some research online and found a large number of complaints against Datawind. This company is fraud and seems to be taking advantage of much hyped project of “Aakash Tablet” and contract by the corrupt UPA government thru the shameless minister called Kapil Sibbal.
Pls. look into the matter and help us get the money back. This is a clear case of cheating and fraud and those responsible should be punished and their website www.Ubislate.com should be banned immediately to stop more people falling victim.
