Hi,
I am using Idea cellular service from last 6 years but not faced such issue from service provider.
For August 2010 i received total bill of 3342.87/- and my regular bill is @1200/- per month. When i checked the bill details i found that 2648/- was charged for GPRS usage for my number ********23.
Immediately after looking at the bill details i wrote to ********45@idea.adityabirla.com and got response following response on 13th Sep 2010:
We wish to inform you that your GPRS facility has been activated with effect from 12th July 2010. As per our record the usage are reflecting on mentioned mobile number hence you have been charged correctly.
**********************************
We never requested for any GPRS facility as we do not require it and also phone does not supports the same.
On the same day i.e. 13th Sep 2010, i replied to Idea representative asking any evidence of my request for GPRS. As expected i have not received any response from Idea customer representative and then i wrote back to grievance.mh@idea.adityabirla.com on 16th Sep 2010.
On 16th Sep i received call from Idea representative and he has confirmed that there was no request from my side to idea about enabling GPRS service and asked for EMSI of mobile. I shared the EMSI details and he informed me that those are not matching with the log they have showing GPRS usage. So it was clear that my phone was not used for GPRS usage and hence i should not be charged GPRS usage charges.
That person called me till 20th Sep and informed me that he will talk to the team and will get back to me but till today nobody has bothered to revert back.
I personally request Idea authorities to look in the matter and take some action. My expectations are that i should receive new updated bill i.e. without GPRS charges which I have not used.
Regards,
Nitin Yewale.
