Sir/Madam,
I am a customer of Punjab National Bank, Naihati (W. B.) branch and my A/c No. is 0210000100169260.
I purchased railway reservation ticket (PNR No. 634-8673239) on 28/10/2010 from Rabindra Sadan Booking Office, Kolkata (South Eastern Railway). Instead of paying cash, I used my debit card and amounts of Rs. 3152/- was debited from my account.
Afterwards, I cancelled the ticket on 08/11/2010 at Rabindra Sadan Booking Office. A refund slip was given to me for the refund amount excluding cancellation charges for Rs. 3052/-. I was told by railway counter clerk that the amount will be credited in my account within a week.
But the refund amount of Rs. 3052/- has not been credited back in my account although more than three months have passed since the ticket was cancelled. The Chief Reservation Supervisor of Rabindra Sadan Booking Office, on contacting, claimed that the refund amount has been sent to Andhra Bank (Servicing Bank of Railway) the day after ticket was cancelled (Both the debit slips as well as refund slips were also of Andhra Bank).
I lodged complaint to PNB Customer Care No. 1********22 on 10/12/2010 regarding the matter and my Complaint ID is 52434220. The Customer Care officials assured that the amount will be credited back within 45 days of lodging the complaint. But it is pity that the amount has not been credited despite three months being passed. Even now the PNB Customer Care officials are unable to tell the reason of such extraordinary delay in crediting back the amount.
Now, I don't know whether the amount has been sent for crediting by Railway and if sent, the amount is lying with Andhra Bank or PNB. I am feeling harassed and cheated.
As the ticket was physically purchased and cancelled on railway counter itself, railways should monitor if the amount is being credited after cancellation within a reasonable time.
You are requested to do the needful in this regard so that the amount can be credited back to my account at earliest.
Thanking you,
Yours faithfully
BIMAL KUMAR GUPTA
