My HDFC Bank\'s credit card no. 5176-5280-0021-5365 was settled after due consultation with the representatives of the bank. A proper settlement agreement document was provided to me and I settled the dues as per the settlement agreement. Bank has not provided the \"No dues\" certificate and on the contrary have informed me that the settlement has been flagged \"invalid\" on some lame excuse. They are also sending monthly statements for the said card after adding various charges on monthly basis. After repeated attempts to settle the matter amicably with the bank there is no positive response.
It looks as if bank does not want to settle the credit card account at all and sheepishly wants to add charges and continue the saga of mental harrasement through its foul mouthed recovery agents who are doing a great service to the bank by getting collections sans the legal route.
My actual dues on the card at the time of settlement agreement were about Rs. 105000/= and the settlement amount agreed upon was about Rs. 81000/=, which was paid in 10 installments from Jun\'08 to Mar\'09. The Jun\'09 card statement has again showed pending balance of Rs. 77000/=. The card has been suspended in early 2008 so it has never been used after that.
My savings account with HDFC Bank(012********114) has been put on hold and about Rs. 3000/= was auto debited to the credit card account in the month of Jun\'09. My regular emi cheques/ECS were returned even after availability of balance and charges were levied for the same.
Please help to get the \"No dues\" certificate for the said card from the bank and also the reversal of charges in the savings account.
I strongly support this complaint.
