I had applied for a new DTH connection on the airtel website. 4 days later i got a call from my ranjeet singh who prompted me to pay RS 1650 towards a new connection. I proceeded as instructed and the amount was deducted from my account. I have not been able to contact him on the number since then. These internet thieves are not new, but if a reputed firm like airtel which caters to more than half of the country's communication needs has to protect itself from these crimes. There is no hope to recover the lost money, But atleast VRITI or the telephone number must be traced and something done to stop this crime.The mail that i received from ranjeet singh is pasted below..

I support this complaint.
I also booked a Dth exactly in the same manner. Only difference I paid Rs. 2900/- New Value pack 1 year subscription. Earlier I used to receive many calls but after payment no calls and customer care also not bothering. I booked for dth on 30th August and since then I really lost my peace of mind. I should never believe such things. Always direct approach to the dealer is safer though we think that online is easy. easy but risky and full of tension. I dont know how to recover though I have tried various things. Even customer id has been assigned to me. Lets hope for the best.
I hope others are careful and not to carry out any transaction online as it is risky.
