Hi, my 5s iphone (purchased in Nov 2014) is not charging when connected with the charger. The phone only charges when the cord is pressed hard & pushed into the charging dock.
I approached Apple's Service Center in Andheri (West), Mumbai for getting the issue resolved. After running a quick diagnostic,the representative said that it is potentially a hardware issue & that the service center does not repair such cases. He suggested that the only solution now is to replace the handset by a new one (@ 20,000 INR).
It is rather strange that Apple's official service center denies to repair their phone & rather suggests to replace the phone at the same market price. So economically it means that i pay Rs. 59,000 (39k + 20k) to own an outed model of iphone (5s model, 16gb) for a period of 20 months.
It is extremely disappointing that Apple Service Centers cannot offer genuine solutions for fixing iphone issues & instead advices to purchase a new phone within 2 years of a purchase; doesn't suit for a brand name like Apple that vouches for its product quality.

I hereby request you to look into the matter & either get the phone repaired or replace the phone with a new one.
