My daughter is a pass holder and travels daily from Attur to various places in Bangalore since she is a CA. She has to travel from Yelahanka 5th phase bus stop since there are no scheduled timings to buses emanating from or destined to Attur. Our transport minister exhorts to travel by bus. Perhaps he has no experience of BMTC buses from remote localities like Attur. No schedule is fillowed nor buses are not guaranteed. 404J which operates in the morning was not seen today at Attur stop atill 08.25 morning. Hence I accompanied her to 4th and 5th phase. On the way we noticed 404J coming empty at santhoshnagar road. Bus was signalled to stop but of no avail. Though the bus stopped to give way for oncoming vehicle the conductpr refused to allow boarding the bus. When the bus is not guaranteed how much time a person has to wait? When the bus is late why cant the conductors or drivers do not allow the passengers to board in the middle that too at starting point? What is the use of having bus pass than? Will not the drivers and conductors break the rules to accommodate their staff who travel free in the bus? How can BMTC earn revenue if this is the attitude of the bus crew? Return journey is another horror. Even after having the fully prepaid monthly bus pass one has to wait endlessly in some stop since no buses connect these remote places for hours together. Having prepaid for bus pass we have to again spend on petrol for two wheelers every day to carry the passenger from the nearest bus stop. If this continues we have to make alternate arrangements in which case the BMTC looses revenue.
