Respected sir/madam,
The day I learned the meaning of the word "Namaste" I stopped using it, Right now i am working in ITC gardenia Bengaluru, the people here are forcing us Muslims to use this word while greeting the guests.
The meaning of this word contradicts(is against the) with the teachings of Islam so we cannot use this word, instead we can use more secular forms of greeting like Good morning Good Afternoon, etc
I believe the use of Namaste is a part of the Hindu Religion and Hindu culture, So nobody should impose this on the followers of other religions forcefully.
As India is a Multi-cultural country, while working anywhere in India and we are free to use our own form of wishing and greeting instead of using "Namaste".
Please guide these people to respect our religious feelings and let us live our lives.
Your good-self may know we have more religious obligations when compared to other people, we cannot sing vande mataram song but we can sing the national anthem Jana Gana Mana.
