Hope this brings the attention of everyone who matters in Sify.
My sify broadband connection was due for renewal on Feb 19, 2011.
Since the local vendors (Pandav Nagar, New Delhi 110092) of Sify
failed to get my connection renewed on time in January (it took them
10 days after i had paid my renewal amount to activate my connection),
in February i decided to renew it online. While renewing my connection
online i chose a wrong pack and made the payment twice (as on first
attempt, according to Sify, my transaction couldn't be done due to
some error). Immediately, i called the Sify people and requested them
to deactivate the pack that i chose and instead use the money to the
original pack i had been subscribing to. However, for some UNKNOWN
REASON, Sify customercare people said that they can deactivate the
plan but cannot refund my money.
"We cannot refund the amount in this PARTICULAR PACK," was what their
answer. They couldn't give me any logic and reason behind not being
able to refund my money in that PARTICULAR PACK.
I called ICICI Bank credit card division and they said that if Sify
want they can refund the money simply by not claiming the amount paid
through my Credit card within 21 days. So, i again called Sify people
and told then what my credit card company had to say on the issue.
However, Sify remained adamant with they "unable to refund money in
the case of this pack".
I wonder why??
