Has anyone realize just how lazy, rude and not-at-all customer friendly SBI employees are ?
I have always dreaded going to the SBI branch, any branch ... pick one and you will find the same kind of ill attitude employees.
I was applying for my passport and as an address proof I required a signed sealed statement of one year. The first time I went to the bank, the operation manager gave me a lecture of how printing it out at the bank is so tiresome and said, "next time you need it, go online, print it and get it here" .. Of course I paid for the print out. Rs.350 for 20 pages (I don't know how they do the calculation).
I need the same statement for the police verification today. So I promptly printed out the statement and reached the bank at 10am. I had to wait for half hr to find out that the operation manager is on leave. Then the branch manager refuse to sign the online statement. He said he had to print it at the bank itself and that can only happen at 1pm.
Now, let me tell you my story; I work for US clients so I end up reaching home at 5am ! So that means I have not had a wink of sleep for more than 15 hrs.
Back to the SBI, I had to finally call up some number given at the bank. Got the regional manager's number, who immediately called the branch manager. We got a very angry signature, but we got it by 11am.
May I mention, the regional manager was very courteous and efficient.
But SBI employees ??? Its like they are trained to be inefficient and rude !!!!
By the way, this happened at the Koramangala, 3rd Block branch.
