I am an Intern of Entomology Division of DRDE, Gwalior and a Student of Final Year ECE, Velammal Engineering College, Chennai. I would like to report the worse condition of the locality in which one of my close friend resides. Over the past few days she had been narrating horrid tales about the happenings around her locality. Ranging from snakes roaming around in the open places to various accidents due to the poor condition of the roads, their woes knew no bounds. Recently I got to visit the area and with the knowledge gained from the Internship in DRDE was able to identify the Species of Mosquitoes as Anopheles that were breeding in the water logged in the open drainages in that area. I would like to raise an issue with the concerned authorities to do the needful with the Laying of the roads and Proper Spraying over the water loggings to prevent the spreading of the dangerous Malaria in their locality.

"The residents of the Jasmine Cottage in Krishna Nagar, Ponniammanmedu have been suffering due to the poor condition of the roads in the locality. The roads disturbed for Drainage silting 8 months ago, have not been re-laid as of date. And especially during the rainy season, the roads get all mushy and slippery and it is completely unfit for use by people of all ages. It literally is impossible to drive vehicles through the roads and many vehicles have already suffered the grunt with Accidents occurring often. Several Phone calls and Representations to the Corporation have not borne fruit. Will the Authorities do the needful to fulfill our basic need of Better Roads?"
