There is no strict control of Autos at Secunderabad Rly Station. Number of Autos in the Auto Parking Bay at Station is very limited. Most of the times the touts dictates the fare and they do not care for the traffic police. When I wanted to hire a Auto from Station to my residence at Bharani Colony, Sainikpuri, the touts asked me to pay Rs.250/- whereas the meter reading is within Rs. 55-60/- max. The touts do not allow the autos to run on meter. A lone traffic constable posted there cannot manage a large number of passengers waiting to board auto. Outside the main out-gate of the station a large number of auto park their vehicle and create obstacle to the Bus passengers and the general pedestrians and the traffic police is not posted in the morning hours. They ply according to their whims without caring for the pedestrians. The same is the picture in the afternoon/evening hours when commuters in large number passes through this gate to come to the station. They command exhorbitant rate for going to places and they always say that themeter is not working. The traffic police although present in evening hours just do not care for the common people and majority of the autos do not care for the police since no action is being taken. I am a regular commuter of train coming to the Station and facing problem. If the traffic police is sincere in their duties,no autos would be allowed to ply near the main out gate and if instant action is taken again errant auto drivers on a regular basis, there would be fear amongst them. I appeal to the Traffic Police Department to post their personnel in the morning and afternoon/evening hours in large number and take passenger complaint by keeping a register with them and stern action taken again errant autos. A foot overbridge is immediately required near theout-gate and in-gate of the station so that there is no accident of pedestrians. Similar foot bridge is required near Uppal Bus Stand where there is two way traffic and pedestrians face an uphill task to cross the road since there is no Zebra Crossing, thus taking their life risk to cross the road to catch/board State Buses since there is the Bus Depot there. There should be traffic police personnel in plain cloth to observe the menace of autos and stern action taken to befool theerrant autos.
