I worked over 3 years to get Parle Product biscuits and confectionery into a very large Supermarket Coles in Australia. We imported one shipment from them. We got a Trade Mark on the name of Parle to protect us. When we asked them for the second shipment, they threatened us that they would withdraw stock, unless we withdrew our Trade Mark.

Our buyer told us that that would happen.

They destroyed our business by withdrawing stock.

After a few years, they stealthily got their biscuits into small Indian stores in Australia and contravened our Trade Mark.

Then they put up a case against us with IP Australia. We could not afford legal backing.

They used expensive legal firms.

We fought the case and lost.

Today they are now claiming $2795 from us !

These Companies make you do work for them for free and use you and once you get their products in, they intimidate you so they can supply directly to the large Companies.

They are ruthless !

DO NOT do any work for this Company. They will burn you and the sting will be worse than the bite.

Their packaging is bad.

We found insects in one of their biscuit packets. They ignored us when we asked for a lab report on that contaminated packet.

We helped them to improve their packaging for sales to Coles. We helped them arrange bar codes, food authority permission, labels, food ingredient displays etc.

We went shop to shop to sell their products and market them to small Companies. We made a loss in the end.

What did they do for us ?

They destroyed us.

Apropos of Mrs. Nina Bhavnagri’s complaint posted on this website about our Company, its products and house-mark PARLE.

At the outset, we take strong exception to the malicious and defamatory statements made by Mrs. Bhavnagri and we are contemplating necessary legal action to proceed against her as we may be legally advised. It is neither our Company’s history nor our policy to destroy anybody’s business. But if someone tries to grab our well-known brand from us, naturally, we will not keep quiet and will make sure that the person responsible for it would be made accountable for it. Following is an account of what transpired between Mrs. Nina Bhavnagri and PARLE in Australia.

First of all, Mrs. Bhavnagari should have realized that she was a mere distributor / importer of our PARLE branded products in Australia and therefore, she could never usurp any proprietary rights of her own in our PARLE brand. But what she did was completely unethical for any prudent business person worth her name. She not only obtained a trademark registration of our PARLE brand in her own name in Australia behind our back but also started blackmailing us by stopping our export consignments at the Australian ports and extorting ransom for release of our goods. This continued for years and all efforts to make her understand the unethical business practices being followed by her did not yield any positive result. This forced us to move IP Australia (Trademark Office) to demand the cancellation of her registration in the PARLE brand. During the course of proceedings, Mrs. Bhavnagari had the audacity to plead with the Australian authorities that, being an Australian business woman, they should support her in the case and reject our cancellation demand. When this gimmick did not work, she even went to the extent of alleging biasness against the Officer conducting the cancellation proceeding. After a prolonged legal battle, we finally succeeded in getting our PARLE brand back from the encroacher ! $2795 is the amount that has been awarded to us towards costs of the proceedings which we will in any case recover from her. She has 14 days to pay this or face further legal action.

All other allegations made by Mrs. Nina Bhavnagari against our company are false and borne out of vengeance and we dismiss them with the contempt they deserve.
