puma exclusive store - not replaced yet under warranty

i bought a pair of shoes from a exclusive store of puma in shipra mall, indirapuram on 09-05-2010. after a month one of them get damaged and at that time i was not aware of the replacement policy but when i went to the store one of the staff told me that there is a warranty for six months.
i asked them to replace then they told me to leave the shoes there for 10 or more days after which i will get the fresh replaced pair.
at that time i was not in the situation to do so as i have only those shoes to wear hence i returned with those damaged shoes.
again after few days the shoes get damaged from the other part so i went to the store with the bill and left those shoes there in lieu of replacement process for which they formally gave the reciept and told me to call and confirm whether the shoes is replaced or not and also told that if they will be replaced instantly they will call themselves.
but after more than 10 days when there was no call from their side i called them for the status and they told me that shoes will not be replaced because there is no manufacturing defect.
now i want to ask that what is the meaning of warranty if they are only responsible for the manufacturing defect.
and if they know this before then why don't they told me in the starting?why they submitted my shoes?i have not told them that it is a manufacturing defect then what is the sense behind letting your customer without shoes for 10-15 days and there is no processing in the end.
and yes in the end i want to say that these guys are very anti-friendly after once you buy something from there, they know only business and are quite professionals with no importance to human feelings.
