Dear Recipient

VIEN is a well known sweet shop in Kolkata on Shakespeare Sarani, I have had a bad experience due to their strange behaviour of hoarding 10 Rupee notes and not giving change for even a 50 Rupee note.

I had snacks there worth Rs.24 on 9th May 2011 and gave them a 50 Rupee note with 2 x 2 Rupee coins but they refused to give me Rs.30 back. I stood there for 30 minutes and even though they collected quite a few 10 & 20 Rupee notes the owner refused to give me the change.

I had to finally spend some more money and break the 50 Rupee note from another shop to get out of my predicamnet.

Is there any law for taking such illegal hoarders to task, I have bought sweets from other reputed shops like "Bhim Nag" , "Banchharam" & "Radharam Mullick and Balram Mullick" etc. and have never faced such a problem before for breaking just a 50 Rupee note.

Regards

Rupen
