Complaint by: Shital on September 18, 2014, 6:47 pm in Career and Employment

My name is Shital D Thakur working in a teleshopping company in Malad and I stay at Dahisar.I got a call from jobsopening(online job portal located at Noida) on 3rd sept 2014 saying that they have an opening in many reputed companies in India as there’s is a U.S based job portal having a good network in India. They said there is a one time fee of Rs.1800/-.As I was desperately looking for a change as we are having salary back log of 2 months I agreed.I was told to come on-line but since I was having some work I said I will pay the amount on Saturday(6th sept 2014) as I am having half day(leave by 2.30pm).
On Saturday morning Jobsopening representative called me to confirm that we will be on-line in the afternoon and I confirmed my availability by 4.00pm.I left office little late as I had some important work to finish. At 4.23pm I received a call from jobsopening representativeto confirm whether I was ready for online registration.I told the representative to contact me by 5.00pm.I was told they have vacancies in three companies for me (Ceat,Hindustan Uniliver and Bajaj Finance).I was told to pay Rs.1800/-( USD 32) one time registration fees which was paid by me through my credit card. Then I was told to forward my C.V on service.jobsopening.com by Mr.Amit and after receipt of my C.V by them I was further told to pay Rs.5,000/-(USD 85) for P.R.M appointment.I initially hesitated and expressed my concern to this representative. The representative gave me an assurance that it is for my benefit as the P.R,M would look after my profile and would guide me in job interviews and it would be a one time fee.As I was badly looking for a job I paid an amount ofRs.5000/-(usd 85) through my credit card. After paying the amount I was told to forward documents(highest qualification,Experience certificate from previous employer and offer/appoinment letter from current employer). As I was not having scanned documents I said I would submit on Monday.I was toldthat my documents would be forwarded to my P.R.M and I will get a call back in 5 to 10 minutes.Since I did not got a call from the representative I called him to know the status and I was told to keep scanned documents for submission on Monday.
On Monday I received a call from jobsopening representative at 5.13 pm saying I that my telephonic interview will be done on Tuesday.i.e,9.9.2013 and my P.R.M would also guide me.I was again told to pay Rs.8000/- for document verification charges and this will be the final payment.I told him that he should have cleared mentioned at the start of the process that the total charges would be so much.I was given an assurance that after this there would be no further payment requests and my full amount would be refunded if I don’t get the job.And even if I am not selected in one company I don’t have to pay again and it would be the last payment.I was assured that there would be no further payment from me and after their assurance I again made payment of Rs.8000/-(usd 170) on 8th sept 2014.I was never given any file nos nor my Id which was promised to me.
On Tuesday morning on my reminding them I was told that my telephonic interview would be conducted in the afternoon. After repeated reminders from my side a telephonic interview was conducted at 5.48p.m.Before the interview call could be conducted I again confirmed that it is for Hindustan Uniliver but the interview was for bajaj finance.Mr Akhilesh Mittal(H.R dept) from Bajaj Finance conducted the interview.I was told that they would revert me with the outcome of that interview. On Tuesday (10th sept 2014) I received a call at 10:59am from jobsopening representative saying that the interview was good and I would have to give an online test.I said that as I had first opted for Hindustan unilever,I would rather prefer to have an job interview of Hindustan unilever. He said that he would call me in 5 to 10 minutes but did not call me till 2.04pm.This time I was again told to do on line test for bajaj which I rejected saying I would go for Hindustan uniliver. The representative insisted that I would have to again make a payment for this interview which I flatly refused.I said I have your voice recording that there would be no further payment requests and I would go to consumer court and I disconnected the phone. I was not even asked to forward any scanned documents nor was assigned any P.R.M.On my inquiry regarding the P.R.M I was told that my P.R.M’s name is Arman Sinha but was not provided with his contact details.I have received welcome mail from jobsopening today on 11th sept 2014 asking for my updated C.V,marksheet of higher qualification, recent photograph and Id proof. I have call recordings of what I have mentioned over here.
I now feel cheated and would like strong action against such fraudulent firms which try and take undue advantage from job seekers.
