For a long time around 15/16 years, the residents of Village Munirka, Area Julahaiwala, New Delhi, situated at a hilly area, were facing acute problem of non-supply of drinking water. After a long time, a tubewell was installed and for providing drinking water on an emergent basis. But gradually its water supply became negligible because large number of unauthorised connections were taken by the residents, who are living in lower level or in the beginning towards tubewell. Therefore, water supply was unable to reach at the top. Water was reaching at the top only when requirement was fulfilled at lower level.

Subsequently, underground reservoir was constructed for providing adequate water supply to the residents. Accordingly, a water pipe line was laid down for giving water supply in our effected area. This is the pipe line, which was providing water supply from bottom to the top. After a gap of two/three years, the residents of lower area started to get fresh connections in lower area gradually by those residents, living in lower area, due to which, water is hardly reaching at the top.

For avoiding unauthorised connections in the new pipeline, DJB decided to lay down two inch pipelines and the same were connected at three/four places on the top of the hilly area. On adopting this procedure, some houses started to get water, but my house Nos.366-A and 367, Village Munirka, New Delhi and other others situated in front of our houses, are unable to get regular water supply, because it is situated between lower area and upper area.

In this connection, we collectively made complaints from August, 2005, subsequently it was reminded to the concerned Officers of DJB and MLA of the area, to meet personally as well as to write letters dtd. 8th Augst, 2005, 10th Sept, 2008, 15th November, 2005 18th August, 2011, but no action has been taken for giving a regular supply to our houses.

You would kindly appreciate that due to regular erratice water supply of drinking water; we are suffering very badly. As you know that tubewell water is neither a permanent solution nor a regular source of water supply. Many a times, the said tubewell also become non-function due to some technical problem, specifically during that period we have to suffer very badly and unable to get a single drop of water.

Under these circumstances, we earnestly request to Delhi Jal Board for connecting two inch water pipe line in front of H. No.366-A, Village Munirka, New Delhi as they have adopted this procedure for others in the affected area, so that we can also get a regular water supply both the times from water supply directly.

An early action shall be appreciated for removing our hardship, mental harassment etc and shall be grateful for your kind help and cooperation in the matter, as we are awaiting more than a decade for the said relief.
