Dear Sir/Madam,
I have a NRE Account with the Bilaspur branch of axis bank and my account number is ********1090837. I had a fixed deposit linked to this account and the FD no was: ********7776787 with a tenure of 1 year with interest payable quarterly. On February 7th I closed this FD, 6 months prior its maturity period. I specifically asked the branch officer regarding penalty on premature withdrawal and was told that there is no such penalty. However after closure of my FD that was of an amount of Rs 200000, the bank credited only Rs 191745 and the remaining amount was deducted and not credited to my account. When I called customer care I received three different and totally baseless arguments as to why the deduction was made.
Next day on 8th Feb I visited the Axis Bank Branch and I was told that the interest that was earlier paid to me has been deducted from my FD PRINCIPAL AMOUNT. I would like to quote the following statement from Axis Bank Website (link: http://www.axisbank.com/personal/deposits/fixed-deposits/fixed-deposit-features.aspx ) "On premature withdrawal of the deposit, interest shall be paid only for the period for which the deposit is maintained with the Bank and at the rate applicable for such period." When I quoted this to branch Officer he told me that this rule doesn't applies to NRE FD but nothing was mentioned in the website regarding this under any t&c on this link.
I would like to mention that I opened this FD online and was dependent on the official website of Axis Bank for the relevant information. I believe that the amount of Rs 8,255 that was deducted from my account is completely unjust and the conflicting information on the official website of axis bank is responsible for this so the onus is on Axis Bank for my loss. I would have considered other options instead of breaking the FD in case I knew about these rules. Kindly help me in retrieving my loss.

I request you kindly arrange to direct Debit of Rs.6970.00 from my savings account and release my account from Debit Frozen at the earliest.
I've repeatedly says for the last 15days that this account used for Hospital payment.
Kindly do the needful at your end at the earliest.
