I travelled by 3 tier AC in Tamil Nadu Express from Vijayawada to New Delhi on 2nd March, 2012.My seat numbers were 1 and 2.
The first thing that met my eyes while settling down on my seat were the cockroaches.
Not one or two but hundreds of them swarming all over like a sci-fi Hollywood movie. I could barely sleep as i was scared of all the roaches running over me.
I had taken a box of strawberries to relish in the train and in the morning when I opened my bag to my chagrin it was teeming with cockroaches and i had to throw it in the garbage bin. When I complained to the attendant he was so nonchalant and asked are there cockroaches??
I didnt partake of any food in the train and the bedroll too seemed more and more dirty to me after seeing all these creatures.
I travelled back after a couple of days and fell terribly ill....with all sorts of infections- tummy, nose, throat, ear and have lost ten working days due to this.
Who will pay for the state I am in?
Mr.Dinesh trivedi hope you are listening!!! Laloo was a much better railways minister.
There needs to be constant monitoring of cleanliness and hygiene on the train.
