I would like to share my horrendous experience with Sahara Pick Pack & Move Private Limited. I wanted to move my house within the same society from one building to another. During my search online, we came across the contact details of this gentleman whose name is no longer there on the portal http://www.moverspackers.com/packers-movers.aspx?city=Gurgaon. I spoke to Manoj I believe and gave him the details of my household belongings and requested him to send someone to have a look at the content prior to get a better understanding. He quoted 3,500 for the entire transfer and he sent his marketing executive a night before. His name was Pankaj. After going through our stuff, he said 4,500 as we had brand new furniture and it had to be packed with care. On this I told him about the quote I was given earlier and after negotiation, he agreed that 3,500 was the ideal price for this. Since me and my wife are working professionals, we had requested them to come early next morning by 9 to begin packing and shifting. He assured that they will reach our house by 8 itself.
Next morning, we woke up at 7 and began preparing for the shift. No one came by 8 or 9 a.m. When we called Pankaj, he did not pick the phone. I kept calling him and at times his phone would show busy and then later he still wouldn’t pick up. I got tired and called Manoj and he said these guys will be there in 20 mins. No one turned up and I again called Pankaj and he still dint pick up and his number was going busy. After a while, he picked up and said he was driving and hence couldn’t pick the phone. This went on for a long time and they arrived at 1 in the afternoon. While entering our society, they also bumped and damaged the automated bar at the society entrance. They said they were surprised when they saw the belongings and said that they won’t pack it as they were given an instruction that they don’t have to pack and that the stuff is very less and can be moved within half an hour. I called Manoj and told him this is unfair to change at the end moment when customer cannot do anything. But since I did not have time on hand, I agreed to pay him 1,000 extra and get the packing done as well.
They began packing and that too only of the furniture, remaining everything in house was packed by us in the cartons they had bought. They were not packing the sofa properly and when I asked them, they said they had never done packing in the last 2 yrs of their assignments. I was shocked, but I had no choice, I helped them pack and move stuff. Despite giving them special instructions, they rubbed the edges of sofa cum bed and damaged the entire pain and design because they hadn’t bubble wrapped it well. They broke one of the legs on which it rests and on pointing it out, said in a very casual tone that damages happen while shifting and they will get the carpenter next day and get it fixed. I told them to take extra care, but it dint seem to move them. They kept handling it carelessly. They lost the screws of the box bed and gave a stupid reason that there were no screws and we are blaming them for the loss. Nor were they even carrying any tool to open the screwes. In the middle of shifting, they all vanished without informing us and their phones were switched off. We called Pankaj and yet again he picked up the phone after numerous attempts and even he couldn’t get through any of these guys.
Finally we got totally frustrated and just decided to get the shifting done and overlook all of it. All our stuff was moved to the new acco by 10 in the night and all along they kept whining about getting late without acknowledging the delay they had caused during the day. Nor did they unpack any of our stuff. Over 15 cartons and other stuff was lying packed in the hall. They said they will get someone personally the next morning to fix the damages. Since I had a strong hunch that they will not turn up next morning, I told them I will make the payment of 2,500 and the remaining will be done when they came the next morning, to which they got defensive. They called Pankaj and spoke to him. While speaking to Pankaj, their stance changed, and they said there were just minor scratches and nothing has been damaged and we are creating ruckus and the moment we kept the phone, they told us, please do not tell them about the damage as it will get deducted from their salary. I explained them that I do not have any intention of holding their money, just that by holding part payment, I am sure they will return the next day to fix this. Then there began an entire back and forth conversations on the phone with Pankaj and Manoj and these guys continued to take dual stands and gave them a wrong picture. Manoj and Pankaj became very aggressive on the phone and said that I have to at any cost make complete payment and that they will take away the bed and sofa-cum-bed and other damaged good that very moment and get them fixed and return. Having a bad experience of their service, there was no way I could trust them with my new furniture anymore. This went on for an hour and they tried really hard that I pay around 4,000 and deduct the damage. I told them outright that I do not want to deduct any money, all I want is that my damaged get fixed.
I wrote on their receipt that I have paid 2,500 and 2,000 is balance and handed it over to them along with the money. They collected and slipped away. After they were gone I got a call from Manoj and he told me, no no .. he ordered me to pay the entire amount. I told him I had paid 2,500 to his boys and they have left along with my receipt and I shall pay the remaining balance the next morning when they return with a carpenter to fix the damage. To this he got extremely violent in his tone in Hindi. He said he is sending the guys upstairs to collect the money. I remained firm on my stand.
He called back again in a minute and repeated the same thing and so did I. Then he went overboard and began getting personal saying he had never seen a cheap guy like me and how much money do I need to suffice my hunger and if there is anything else that will suffice my hunger, to which I told him to watch out his language. He began abusing my family with cheap hindi slangs and I responded to him and hung the phone. Then I got call from Pankaj. For a change he called me and he kept yelling and repeating me to make the complete payment. In the background I could hear Manoj continuously abusing. I hung the phone and did not take their calls. I was extremely taken back by their service and behavior. It was unbelievable.
It was no surprise that they did not call after that. No one came to unpack, repair the damage or collect the cartons. We unpacked all our stuff, got the carpenter to repair our damage and then after almost 10 days I got a call from someone (********72) in Sahara who claimed to head the Delhi operations. He asked me for the pending payment and he said he will send someone to fix the damage. Imagine that, after 10days. I gave him a snapshot of the entire scene and told him that one cannot abuse their customers like this. To which he told me that Manoj had informed him that I hadn’t paid the money as there were some minor scratches on my furniture and that I had abused them over the phone and refused to pay the money. He also told me that the shifting boys had informed him that all the stuff they had moved was packed and unpacked by them. Of course, he found all this hard to believe and said that Manoj is not the kind of guy who would abuse and said he will check and revert.
What will they revert with? All they did was move my belongings from one place to the other. Later during unpacking I found few things missing and I did not know who to complain. I would like to warn anyone reading this that please pay someone else and shift your accommodation, never ever rely on the services of Sahara. You will get poor service and also unprofessional behavior from their team.
I will not pay them a single penny from the pending amount for the atrocious behavior and harassment I had to go through in the entire process. I have made it a point to highlight this to my society and asked them to ban and blacklist them in Vatika Society. At the same time I have informed my friends and colleagues looking for packers and movers to stay away from these guys.

I support this complaint. They were a vendor for my Company when i was transferred from Hyderabad to Bangalore. Among several items i had a steel trunk with some newly purchased perfumes too. I was sure all my new stuff will be safe in the trunk which i was locked but i was shocked to see it when i got it delivered at banaglore. IT was squashed like some bull dozer ran over it. Yes!! And items like perfume and new jeans were missing. My shoe rack which a brand new was broken. The T.V trolley though old was again broken. After i asked for damages the Sahara person started trying to act cheeky he would say am like his sister and i should realise this would be deducted from salary. Finally i made my company deal with this over a conference call and received damages of 4.5K though the good were worth 10k!! They are in the wrong business!! They are unprofessional and do not know how to handle their customers.i definitely think everyone should be aware about their case!
