Respected Sir,
This is to highlight Arrogant Behaviour by two Ticket checking officers -- the experience I and my wife (Vijayalakshmi) had today early morning at Bangalore Cantonment Railway Station. We were the passengers for Kochuveli - Bangalore Express PNR No: 4543516806 on 6/8/2011 i.e. yesterday, boarded from Alleppey. While we got down at Bangalore Cantonment Railway Station, today morning at 8:15 am a Railway Ticket Checker who was checking our Ticket (E- Ticket) found that gender highlighted against my wife's name was male in the ticket and took us to the Chief Ticketing Officer( A Lady). I accepted my mistake and pleaded to both of them and told them that it was just an accidental mistake while booking the online ticket. But both the officers were so adamant in charging the penalty of Rs 544( Double The Ticket fare of Rs 272 for one person). I and my wife had even produced our driving license card as original ID proof to convince them. Still they were so rude and arrogant and was very particular that we pay the fine. I was fed up with their arrogant behavior and agreed to pay them the amount. Meanwhile I asked whether s there any possibility to reclaim the original amount paid for the Ticket as we didn't do it purposefully, response from them was really pathetic.
I wanted to report their arrogant behaviour to higher authorities, hence I asked them their Name and Designation. But they were so arrogant and were reluctant to reveal their official identity. And they started to ask me rudely why I needed their details. They told that Name and Designation Details are there in the counter foil of the fine slip, but only signature was there.
Hence I would request necessary action to be taken against these two ticket checking officials who were present at Bangalore Cantonment Railway Station around 8:15 am to 8:40 am(One gent and his reporting officer a woman). These people forget that because of us passengers they are earning there livelihood and their families are dependent on the money paid by us as travel fare. Myself being a regular passenger of Indian Railways should have been given more respect as a passenger and moreover as an individual.
On what grounds does they say that they can't reveal their official identity. It's the right of any citizen to claim or complaint against any unsatisfactory behaviour of any employee in any government organization. I want necessary behavioral action to be taken against these two employees.
If you find my plea genuine please arrange for refund of my money Rs 544 which I paid as fine for such an accidental mistake. It was not at all purposeful. Expecting the best services as an Indian Citizen.
I have attached necessary details of the bill and ticket.
Thanking You,
With Regards,
Arun Kumar Sai
