Sri Amrit Dubey (Cell No : ********82) of Kolkata, is a travel agent and in the past I have been utilizing his services for booking of my air tickets. I have been making all the payments to his a/c no 0********508 with ICICI Bank, IFSC Code ICIC0000900 in the favor of Shankari Ghosh. The registered address for this account no is Rani RashMoni More, Sodepur, West Bengal, Kolkata- 700110. and the registered phone no is ********67.

On 18th Feb, 2013, I had sent him an email (at sdubeya@gmail.com) asking him to book my tickets from Bangalore- Guwahati on 5th April and return tickets from Jorhat- Bangalore on 17th April, 2013.

In receipt to my email, he advised me through SMS to deposit an amount of Rs. 11200/- to the aforesaid a/c no and ensured that the tickets would be booked. As I had booked my tickets through him even prior to this, I trusted his words and deposited the money on the said a/c no. On 17th Feb,2013, I have deposited an amount of Rs. 11200/- in the aforesaid account no. On 20th Feb, he sent me an email with the e-tickets.

And on 18th Feb, he sent me another email with the e-ticket

From Jorhat to Bangalore on 17th April in JetKonnect Airlines having PNR FTMDHS

On a day prior to my date of Journey, when I tried checking the PNR no of my flight, I could not retrieve my booking. Further, when I called the airport authority, I came to know that although the ticket was booked but because the payment was not made against the tickets, the tickets were invalid.

I was surprised with the reply I got from the airport authority as I was to travel for a very urgent piece of work. I tried repeatedly calling the agent ( Amrit Dubey) to get more clarification on the matter. However, even after calling him more than 1000 times and sending him SMS, neither did he answer my call nor did he revert back. At this I was compelled to book tickets on my own as I had my other commitments to fulfill.

Therefore, I had to book the tickets at a very high price of Rs. 8485 in Indigo Airlines from Bangalore – Guwahati and Rs. 6250 from Jorhat to Bangalore in JetKonnect Airlines

I had sent him mails asking him to return my money back and also informed him that I would be compelled to take legal actions in case he does not return my money. However, he did not reply to even a single mail. (Copy Enclosed)

He had also claimed that he has a travel agency in Kolkata by the name of Shivam Travels. But when I asked my friends to go to the address, they could not locate the address.

On the basis of the aforesaid, I am bound to conclude that the Travel Agent (Amrit Dubey) had willfully tried to cheat me by providing fake tickets, as a result of which I had to sustain enormous mental pain and a lot of monetary loss.

I would hereby request you to take appropriate action against the travel agent and cancel all his licenses and help me in getting my money back.
