My son presented me NOKIA Asha 200 last year. The mobile was bought on 13 March 2012 from Shop # S-231/232/233, II floor, Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj. My son also purchased one year extended warranty from United India Insurance. Sometime in February 2013, this mobile stared intermittently malfunctioning. It used to hang to be precise and I had no option but to remove and replace the battery before it would function again. In was vaguely aware of Nokia Care centre in NOIDA Sector 10 but could not locate it as it is situated on the second floor and the NOKIA display is not visible while driving as trees hide the sign board. Enquries at Sector 25 market revealed its location and I landed up at NOKIA Customer Care on March 14, 2013 around 1100 hrs. I was PROMPTLY told NOKIA warranty was over and the extended warranty would be provided by the dealer from whom the mobile was purchased. NOKIA Customer Care blamed the memory card and offered to reload the software at a charge. The memory card was removed from the mobile.
My visit to Ambience Mall did not add any value. The was no technician who could identify the problem.
A fortnight later the problem of the mobile hanging again surfaced. This time I was told that the mother board needs to be replaced, which would cost around Rs 3000. My calls and email to United India for approval were unanswered. I opted for replacement of the mother board which took nearly two months. When I finally got the mobile, I lost some very emotional moments as the camera was not working. This required another visit to NOKIA Customer Care. They again diagnosed the mother board and offered to replace it. More than a month later when I got the mobile the problem of intermittent hanging resurfaced.
What worries me that NOKIA Customer Care gives 30 days warranty on spares replaced. The problem has resurfaced with two mother boards, which have cost me around Rs 3000. What if the problem resurfaces after 30 days ? Where do I go and plead my case.
I want NOKIA to replace my mobile Asha 200 with a new set.
