I am a consumer of Aavin milk purchasing 1ltr toned milk by card for RS.24/ltr at the aavin booth numbered avm069 at church road, radha nagar, chromepet -600044. Repeated complaints to the authorities have not rectified the behaviour and malpractices by the vendor.I have 1ltr delivered at my door step by a different vendor (for the past 34 yrs) ,the delivery charge being Rs.90/ltr. Another 1 ltr i purchase in person at the said booth near my home.
I and other consumers are verbally abused if we arrive later than 0530hrs to purchase milk. very often milk sachets do not have date stamp on it. But when milk is in demand (in summer) this problem disappears.which means there is no milk left over to be passed on the next day.
For cash, milk with m.r.p of 13.50 is charged at 14.00.it's take it or leave it policy.
On 11.04.2014, it was 0600 hrs when I arrived at the booth to purchase my 1 ltr with my 2 half ltr cards. As usual I was abused for arriving late.I have been down with the flu and plagued with a bad cough. I told them if there was such a rule as deadline for non-service card holders to purchase before 0600 hrs then have a printed notice from aavin displayed. I was refused milk that day and telephonic complaints came to naught. The next morning .I was abused for not having my cards punched the previous day alleging that I had collected my quota of milk.It was fortunate that a bulk buyer vouched for me as he was present during the altercation the previous morning. If it had not been for this honest man I would have been cheated of a 1 ltr of milk.
In my telephonic complaint,I had demanded that the aaavin authorities display a notice at the booth if there is a deadline to be adhered to for non-service card holders. Also cash purchase not to exceed M.R.P.That card holders have a right to demand milk sachets that date stamp on it and no-leak sachets.
If such a notice is displayed by the authorities ,then the abuses will stop.
