I purchased a Blackberry Curve 9360 from Mumbai on 13th January 2012. The warranty period stated for the phone is 1 year. And I started facing problems after 7 months of use.
1. The flash light of the phone was permanently ON which was draining the battery. After visiting the Authorized Blackberry Customer Care Centre (Service City, Office No-201, 2nd Floor, Sagar Plaza, Laxmi Nagar, Behaind Psk, Opp Metro Pillar No-70, Delhi-110092), I was told I will be receiving a call within 10 days once my phone is fixed. I did not get any calls even after 10 days.
2. After endlessly trying the telephone number mentioned on the job sheet, I was finally told that my phone has been replace by a new phone. This apparently "new" phone also had the same problem of a permanent ON flash light. I returned the phone back to the service centre.
3. Of course, I did not receive any calls informing me about the status of the phone. Because the number that they have provided is always busy, I had to go visit the centre 10 times to check the status of my phone. Finally after much frustration, I figured out that the concerned person at the centre had conveniently put the receiver aside!!
4. Its been a month since I contacted the service station for the first time. I have also tweeted about my issue to @BlackBerryHelp but the reply said "Please contact your telephone service provider in your country". Why should I contact my service provider when the problem is with my Blackberry set bought from a retailer! This just proves that they had very little idea about their OWN servicing policies in India.
This centre is 5 kms from my home, 10 trips mean 100 kms of petrol, time and money being wasted. Add to that the inconvenience of not having my smartphone with me for 1 month. I am so fed up now that if I dont get my phone back in a day or two, I want my money back from Blackberry India.
I am very disappointed with Blackberry Customer Services in India and never in my right mind would I recommend anyone to buy a Blackberry when other brands provide much better services.
Thanks for the helpful review.
After reading your review, I can't even think recommending Blackberry devices to anyone.
What a shame Blackberry India!
Is your problem solved?
I am also facing similar problems with Blackberry service center in Kolkata. My Z30 is with the service center for more than 6 weeks, they are least bother to replace my faulty device. Now I want my money back and want compensation from Blackberry for mental harassment and for loss of business due to unavailability of data communication.
