Hi,
I am a BE graduate presently a housewife living in Tollygunj Kolkata. Since i was looking for a part time job, I came across a job advertisement in the times job section of The Telegraph newspaper for online tutor. With further communication I received a mail from the institute called Study Time (jobs.studytime03@gmail.com) dated 19/08/2011 giving details of the organisation, shift timings, tutor details, salary and fees etc.
As per the mail...
" We charge Rs. 4500 per tutor. Out of which, Rs. 2500 has to be paid once a candidate processes his/her CV with us; Rs. 1000 has to be paid once the tutor clears the Test and the remaining Rs. 1000 has to be paid once a tutor gets his/her first month salary. We do not charge any Registration or Enrollment Fee. It differs from subject to subject. We refund the entire Processing fee, in case a Tutor could not clear the Test. Every tutor who processes his/her CV through us clears the Screening Test and the Academic Interview. We give personal guidance to all our tutors to clear these tests ".
And they mentioned a contact person as Mr Rahul Bose for further communications. As asked in the mail and by Rahul on telephonic conversation I deposited an amount of Rs 2500/- ( dated 01/09/2011) Rs 3600/- ( dated 13/09/2011) and Rs 1850/-( dated 26/09/2011) in an SBI account under the name of Saurish ghosh. He had also asked me to take an online screening test to qualify . That i did and cleared it too. After this he said i will be getting a call from the company HR for academic interview which never happened.
Inspite of my regular calling and inquiries for more than past 1 year.. either Rahul is unavailable on phone or just asks me to call back again that too after 10:30 pm as he works in shifts. Nowhere during the registration process was I told that this could take such a long time. What I was told that after clearing the screening test Academic interview will be scheduled in 10 to 15 days. On my asking as to by what time am I to expect a call as i had waited for long, initially he used to give me a month or so expected time..and when that time passed away I re-inquired, his tone was objectionable and he never gave me a straight answer and kept postponing. On my impatience he even argued and hung up saying that he is not liable and cant help it. As the loss was mine i had to bear with him. Upon endless calls and calls I lost all hope.
The worse part is I still see the same advertisement in the Tuesday edition of times jobs of The Telegraph appearing every week till now.
I fell cheated and helpless at the same time. At least, i wish to warn other fellow aspirants to fall prey of such a unethical institute.
I suppose the esteemed newspaper who publishes this advertisement should also be aware of this situation.
During all this time I was searching for a proper channel who could look into my grievance and get m justice. I sincerely hope that this forum will look into the matter and do the needful.
