Dear Sir/Madam

I am a Vodafone customer for more than 7 years. I have been using 3G in my prepaid no. ********16 for a long time now.
I use I phone and am well aware my applications which use mobile data. In the 3rd week on September 2014 I recharged over 500+ in over 2 to 3 occasions. The amount just vanished in matter of few minutes pointing mobile data usage. I too suspected it could be a cause and recharged again, still same issue. The duration was not less than a hour with only wassup having mobile data turned on and no huge files like pictures or musics exchanged. I really doubt that texting in wassup will consume 120 or 180 rupees.

When I contacted the customer care, I was given a dumb answer that my Iphone files consume data in the background. With all the data transfer switched off, it really makes me wonder how those files will use 3G data. Infact all my apple related software notify me for an update and only when I enable 3G for update it will. I have been using my wi fi for downloads like these.

I did a small test today by recharging for 100 and just enabled wassup and the money went in 00:01:48 (HH:mm:ss) and again it was just texts.

I was told by your supervisor that if I use 3G without without purchasing any plans from you, all data usage will be charged high and to avoid it, I had to buy a 3G plan. Even for a lay man it would sound dumb as I have been using smart phone for over 2 years and even when heavy data was transferred I did not experience these issues. And that was the reason for me not to switch to any 3G plans. When I asked for details on such charges, they were not able to explain apart from telling me that unless I get a 3G plan subscribed I will be charged like this heavily.

I then recharged for Bonus Card 98 [500mb] after few hours, I received SMS that my 3G is deactivated. I wondered how it is even possible as the recharge sms did not say any about it. Again I contacted, Vodafone representative told me that its mentioned in site and asked me to check it, he could not wait more and disconnected the call.

Later Mr.Pon Sundher answered my call and told that have enabled 2G by recharging with 98, which will disable 3G. Nowhere in the site its mentioned that its even a 2G plan. After Mr.Pon Sundher verified the same he repeated the same. When asked for the cause on me not intimated, he placed me on hold and repeated the same. I learnt that it is g no where and as its Vodafone's error for not giving complete details and turning my 3G I asked him to enable it back. I was again asked to recharge for another pack to get my 3G. It got me really ****** off as it was not my fault. I asked him to enable my 3G with same pack which was denied.

When asked to speak to supervisor, I was told that he is busy and will be getting a call tomorrow or I had to call them again. Upon insisting on staying on call till I talk to any one supervisor am also from a service industry, his tone changed and finally the call was connected with his supervisor, Mr.Mohan with utmost dissatisfaction. Mr.Mohan informed the same and the maximum he could do is to give me a 50 topup agreeing to the fact its Vodafone's error. He also said that I should have contacted customer care to get data package details, which makes me wonder why do you even have a website for it. Screenshots are attached for clarity.

I never expected these type of response from a Global company. I cannot accept the 3G de-activation with out prior intimation. I need my 3G plan to be re-instated without any additional charge and the re-fund of the amount debited for 2G activation. I also want to know the details on the data usage [which app consumed data] for the month of September'14.Also have a proper customer intimation system in place so that no future customer suffers like me.
