I booked a ticket for my mom using SG credit card online, I am not one of the passenger. I got Booking Confirmation as well, but two hours later got an email saying it is not processed but the booking is still "Confirmed".
The wonderful policy wants credit card holder to be one of the passenger (even if the card holder does not want to travel he/she has to travel to abide by your policy). The wonderful policy does not have an option to provide Credit card Authorization letter to the passenger from the card holder which other Airlines provide. Appreciate the "deshi" intention of pooling in money within the country but it causes trouble for people overseas. When I called customer service the option mentioned was even more stunning. Passenger can go to the Airport anytime before OR on the day of travel (typically 3 hours. before the flight time). I want to highlight two scenarios -
1. Genuine/Indigo Patriotic passengers are affected if they do not own an Indian credit card. They have to pay by cash to travel in your flight. This means they should have ready cash if you want to travel in "Indigo".
2. Not so keen customers will just book and after knowing about this Wonderful policy would not even be bothered to pay cash but would book in Alternate Airlines using credit card, it gives more leverage in terms of rolling cash. Which means Indigo will not know if the passenger is boarding or not until two/three hours before the flight (which is the last timeline to make payment). The latest timeline for any other passenger to book is four hours before the flight time. Does this mean that Indigo is ready forego one seat due to this wonderful policy???

Complainant's Goal: Alternatives - Make cash payment in Non-India office/accept card authorisation
