Hi There,

I have booked (receipt no. 227884 for Rs. 5,000/-) “Maruti Suzuki Wagon-R Vxi” on 03rd March 2014 through below mentioned dealer and sales team:

Bagga Link Motors Ltd.,
395, Patpadganj Industrial Area, Delhi - 110 092
Ph: 011-46488888, 22169111/222/333/444

Sales person: Mr. Kunal Mehta
Team Leader: Mr. Anuj Jha

I approached the above said dealer on 23rd Feb 2014 for an enquiry and test drive of Wagon-R.

Test drive was fine but technical knowledge of the sales team was sub-standard. Team could not properly explain the features highlighted in the brochure. It seems sales team was not aware of some of the key features like “Front passenger under seat tray and the tyre size difference between different variants of Wagon R.

Even after lot of hiccups (created by sales team), I booked “Wagon-R VXi” on 3rd Mar 2014 after depositing Rs. 5000/- (receipt no. 227884). The only expectation I had was to get the delivery of my vehicle without any unnecessary hassle. Hence, I explicitly asked the team for all respective processes, required documents (for each process) and hidden charges (if any).

Sales team confirmed the requirement of documents for each process. We closed our discussion after finalizing on below mentioned points:

(i) Cost of the vehicle

(ii) Freebies/ Discount

(iii) Documents required for loan: 3 photographs, PAN Card, Rent Agreement, Bank Statement, Form 16, Appointment letter and Aadhar Card

(iv) Loan provider bank: ICICI Bank

Sales team approached me on 8th Mar to collect the documents for loan processing. During our meeting I was told that loan will be processed through Kotak Bank instead of (earlier agreed) ICICI bank. This act of sales team was a big surprise to me. They have changed the loan provider without my consent and prior intimation. Anyways, I signed the required loan documents and handed over to the loan agent (who came along with Maurti sales team).

Again, I was not been informed “proactively” by sales team that my loan status. Team told me about the loan approval when I called them to check the loan status. Here, I could have easily saved a day or two.

On 18th Mar, I got call from sales team for my visit to showroom for the delivery of my booked vehicle. I confirmed 19th Mar as my delivery acceptance date. On 19th morning, I received a call from sales team that they need “8 bank cheques” for loan processing (else delivery will not be done), which was never been mentioned during the entire discussion. It came as another big shock to me in the 11th hour. I was not ready with 8 cheques with me. Had I got the intimation earlier I would have managed through my bank by that time (by 19th Mar). Anyways, I (along with my friend) went to Bagga Link dealer to complete other formalities except “8-cheques” issue.

Meanwhile, I also wanted to talk to TL Mr. Anuj Jha to understand why they have not communicated this requirement earlier? They could have easily given me a list of all required documents since it is a standard procedure for all customers who need 4-wheeler loan. I consider it as negligence in service at their part.

The kind of reply I got from Mr. Anuj Jha (TL) was quite insulting and humiliating. He replied to my queries angrily in an unprofessional manner and also told me rudely: “do I need to tell you that you need to keep money in your account?” 3rd big time shock to me! How could he talk to a customer like this?

Anuj Jha’s attitude was too arrogant, casual and insulting to tolerate. Such behaviour from a person who is designated as “team leader” is not at all acceptable. This rude behaviour further aggravated the situation, going forward which will spread a bad word of mouth for the dealer as well as the manufacturer.

I have been an admirer of Maruti Suzuki’s high standard of quality and pre and post sales services but recent incidence has forced me to rethink if I want long a term association with Maruti Suzuki?

I am going through mental agony due to the misbehaviour done by Mr Anuj Jha. I would like to know, how Maruti Suzuki/Bagga Link is planning to compensate the loss of my image done by a poor TL like Mr Anuj Jha who doesn’t have even the adequate product knowledge and has unprofessional attitude.

Your response is awaited.

Sincerely yours,
Amit Ranjan
