I availed customer Care service of Yatra travel agency as online credit card of my relation who was to book ticket was not working. The call started at about 5.30 pm on 30th December 2010 and lasted for about 31 minutes. The fare quoted was consented to and names of the passengers and the credit card details were provided. I was told that the transaction is complete and sum of Rs 25518 has been charged.
But I got mail that on account of technical problem, the ticketing cannot be done. The executive told me that in the meantime, price of the ticket has been revised upwards and that the ticket can be issued only on payment of another sum of Rs.7000/-. The refund of the amount, in the alternative was to given in 5 days.

It was unfair. The price shown on the website was still Rs 8300 approx even after refreshing of page whereas the amount claimed on account of increase in price was much more than displayed on webpage. I refused to pay any more amount and sought refund of the amount paid two or three minutes earlier.
Mr. Kapil Kumar, the executive on phone did not help except to say that the refund shall be given in three days.
Since, the ticket was required to be booked urgently, I used another travel agency webpage and bought online ticket but at higher price of Rs 28971 i.e. Rs 3453 then the price paid to agency but as against demand of Rs 7000/- the amount paid is only half of the increase claimed.
It shows that travel agency did not acted failry when completing transaction and claimed much more amount then even displayed on webpage and has further delayed refund.
I expect the Company to pay Rs 3453, the amount paid in excess and any reasonable sum of compensation for the harassment and stress.
