Travelling - Tatkal Waiting List Tickets and the story of a cheating

Sir,

WHEN MY AGENT ARRANGED A TATKAL TICKET FOR ME AND MY FAMILY FOR THE RETURN JOURNEY FROM HYDERABAD TO THRISSUR ON 10 TH SEPTEMBER 2011, THE SEAT/BERTH DETAILS WERE GIVEN AS WL/39, 40, 41. IT WAS PROMISED THAT CONFIRMED BIRTH WILL BE ALLOTED ONCE THE TTE COMES WITH CHART. THROUGH OUR PNR No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s. 1443 FOR THREE SECOND CLASS SLEEPER TICKETS AND WISH TO GET BACK A FULL REFUND SO THAT AT LEAST ONE PERCENT OF MY SUFFERING CAN BE JUSTIFIED.
